I'm a self-taught artist. One of eight children, married and mother of five children. I truly feel it was a gift from my late mother. We grew up surrounded by her beautiful collections of Japanese art, mid-century furnishings and eclectic fashion style. I'm a self-taught artist. One of eight children, married and mother of five children. I truly feel it was a gift from my late mother. We grew up surrounded by her beautiful collections of Japanese art, mid-century furnishings and eclectic fashion style. She was intelligent and modest but most important driven to perfect anything in the arts she chose to work at. I'm lucky to have expressed it in as many ways as I have over the years. I never went to college until my late 40’s and graduated with an associates in web development and design.

I can't say I chose this medium of watercolor and sketching, it chose me. I love all mediums of art. I have always enjoyed sketching. We have five children and I drew for them all the time. I love color, worn and imperfect things, the two seemed to have clicked. I sketch the shapes I see and paint it how I want it to feel.

I started painting for the first time last year during COVID. I had been struggling with how to make my best friend laugh while going through brain cancer and ditched the hallmarks. My mother said katydids brought good luck. My husband took notice and encouraged me to focus on painting more. I'm a mid-century girl, drawn to simplicity, lots of colors and organized shapes.
